Pulsar Trio - Erpelparka Suite
In spring 2007 the pianist Beate Wein and the sitar player Matyas Wolter meet in India. It drives her curiosity and a challenge: how would two so different instruments sound good? A few months later, the drummer Aaron Christ joins us back in Germany: the Pulsar Trio was born.
In long improvisational sessions one gets to know musically. Ideas arise, are refined, composed and arranged and it begins to pulsate.
The three musicians explore their new, pulsating sound universe in improvised, catchy compositions. Piano, sitar, surbahar and percussion succeeds in a refreshingly flourishing sound fusion that has not yet been heard.
In 2011 they recorded their debut album in the home of the pianist in Niederlausitz. Her debut album "Erpelparka Suite" was released in 2012. They successfully toured with the album through Engalnd, Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic and Austria.
They captured their audience at festivals like Glastonbury, Fusion, TFF Rudolstadt, 3000 degrees, Leverkusen Jazztage, Bavarian Jazzweekend, Masala Festival Hannover and won the Global Music Contest Creole 2014.
"The pulsar trio and its jazzy Weltmusik with its fine psychedelic impact are pleasant to the eye, with the Matyas Wolter playing together with the sitar and pianist Beate Wein, and because with Aaron Christ the trio too The three from Potsdam are absolutely audible. In the "good mood" factor, hardly any of the big ones is enough for them anyway."
